Group will depart from Bruce's house at 9 am March 24th, 2018 and return on April 1st, 2018. We will drive to Wilson, KS to set up camp for a morning ride at Switchgrass before heading out for the rest of the drive to Sedona. We will spend four full days riding in Sedona, staying in an AirB&B for three nights (80 Campfire Trail, Munds Park, AZ 86017, United States) and camping one night at Manzanita campground . We'll then head east to Santa Fe for a little more riding before hitting Kansas City as our last stop on our return trek to Minnesota. 

The tentative agenda from our first morning is below:

Sunday, March 25th

  • Breakfast from 6:30 - 8 am
  • Ride as much of the 22 miles of Switchgrass as we can. On the road by noon.
  • Lunch and dinner on the road
  • 15 hours to Sedona.

Monday, March 26th and Tuesday, March 27th

Wednesday March 28th and Thursday March 29th

  • Breakfast from 6:30 - 8 am
  • On ride by 10
  • Lunch
  • Early evening ride w/Flagstaff NICA riders
  • Late dinner

Friday, March 30th

  • Breakfast from 6:30 - 8 am
  • On the road to Santa Fe by 9. 
  • Lunch and dinner on the road
  • 7 hours to Santa Fe
  • Set up camp at Black Canyon Campground

Saturday, March 31st

Sunday, April 1st

  • Breakfast from 6:30 - 8 am
  • Ride more....or hit the road......
  • Lunch and dinner on the road
  • 7 hours to Minneapolis

Breakfast will be included with the cost of the trip. All other meals will be managed via group decision. We can keep cost down by shopping at grocery stores and preparing lunches and eating dinners at camp / house. Lots to choose from everywhere we go, so we should be able to agree on something as a group. 

Items to Pack:

  • Bike, helmet, pedals, shoes (x2 if you have 2 pair), sunglasses, BIKE LOCK, and gloves
  • At least one kit (jersey and bottoms) for EACH DAY of riding. We do have laundry at the AirB&B and can do loads of wash. 
  • Layers for cool weather. Updates RE weather/forecast will be posted as the we draw closer to departure. 
  • Camelbak (or like pack) with multitool, spare tubes THAT FIT YOUR TIRES, spare tire (if you have one, trust me!) and anything else you think you might need. 
  • Tent (I have a few 2-3 person tents if you need one) sleeping bag, pillow, a sheet, sleeping pad (I have a few of these too) something warm to sleep in.
  • Casual clothing. Layering will be key! Likely warm days (shorts and t-shirts) and cool nights (pants and long sleeves, light jacket, hat) 
  • Toiletries, medications, and 2 TOWELS (one for changing, one for cleaning) 
  • An ID, your insurance information, and cash/debit card
  • Electronic accessories (phone chargers, camera, music, headphones, etc...)

  • 6:2 rider to coach ratio. All coaches NICA Level 1 certified and current or higher.

  • Bike pump, lube, rags, tool kit
