What is ParkYDs?

ParkYDs stands for Park Kids. Based out of Brackett Park in the Seward/Longfellow neighborhood, ParkYDs offers fun, active, and engaging summer bike adventures for youth ages 5 to 11 that explore our community. Whether your child is just starting out or already loves to ride, our camps are designed to build confidence, skills, and a love for biking — all while making new friends and exploring the great outdoors! These camps are for riders who are comfortably riding two wheel bikes with no training wheels.

Just Riding Around Camp (Beginner)

Just Riding Around is perfect for kids who are new to biking or have never received formal skills instruction—and might not yet know what they’re capable of. Over four days, in 2-hour sessions, participants spin their wheels through fun and ability-based activities focused on building fundamental bike skills with safe progressions, simple instruction, and peer support. Most days we’ll ride in the Seward/Longfellow neighborhood but may venture further, based on the group’s ability and interest. This camp is ideal for kids who are new to riding, unsure about group participation, or still riding bikes without gears. These riders must be able and comfortable riding a two-wheel bike without training wheels.

Cost: $120

Camp Information:

Families/participants NEW to NCYD programming will need to create an account at the time of registration.

All camps are composed of 6 - 10 participants instructed by 2- 3 youth mentored and 1 certified lead coach. If camps DON’T meet the minimum number of participants, we will not be able to run the camp and will keep you informed if cancellations need to be made.

Equipment needed: Please ensure your child has a properly fitted helmet (required) and their bike is in working order before camp. Things to check include, tires are pumped up, brakes are working, and chain is oiled and working smooth when your child pedals. Bikes should be equipped with a water bottle holder or way to carry water safely. Training wheels are not allowed. We highly recommend removing any gadgets (horns, bells, streamers, baskets, and/or spoke decorations) to keep the bike free of foreign obstacles and distractions for our little riders.

Financial Support: We want to make biking camps available to everyone. For those requiring financial assistance to participate in a camp/s, a scholarship is available to cover program costs. Please reach out to info@ncydevo.org.
